Who is the best goalkeeper in the world? (current or past)

In my opinion I'd have to say that the current goalkeeper on the French mens team is the best. The guy was like a wall at the europeans. :barbell:

There are a number of very good "on the line" goalkeepers around, but remember in a 5 a side game there is much more to it that that - the best "players" all have to be multi postitional - I've seen Deventer playing with Erwin in goal - and in most other teams in the world he would be their best goal scorrer!!

And he is a DAMN good goalie aswell!

He has very good reflexes, and experience, knowing where you will probably shoot....

I think that comes from Erwin being one of the best goal scorers, and knowing where to shoot. Helps him anticipate the shot I would think.
As far as goaltenders go, I think the French Men's goaltender from Worlds was pretty impressive. Might be the same one from Europeans???
We also have a young guy from Canada, Jereme Davies, that I consider to be one of the best. Certainly the best that I have been fortunate enough to play with. Too bad for him he has to play with us and gets way more than his fair share of shots! :bang:

Well, I've been playing against the team of the french goal keeper in the french first division, and this guy is also able to score from the mid field. Is got an arm as well!!!!. I do not know if it's the best in the world but he was god damned good when I played his team.
I saw Deventer once in France (2000 I guess, european cup ), they were only 5 players (no spares;-)) and they were really impressive, physically and technically as well.

Boffi from Posillipo/Italy, or Neil Parker has done a very good job for GB the last few years (and scores goals, wins the sprint)

My vote would go to Roland Mangos, former Australian player. He just keeps goal on pure instinct!

If your going on past goalkeepers Dave Fancourt (bere forest), Ralph Konrad (Essen and Germany) or Kanobi (Miederich and Geremany)

Hey Alan, you still owe me a beer !!!

There is another good German goalkeeper. He was playing U21 Nationalteam last year as far as I know.

Tie Breaker Shoot-Out is probably the best and easiest way to find out a good goal keeper. Sadly though, we don't tent to have too many of them.

I think the odds are stacked in favour of the shooter in this case so it's a better test of the real goal Keeper.

Maybe we could have a shoot-out contest on the side of big competition where say 10 of the best (nominated at the team leaders meeting) shooters and 5 Goal Keepers then have a few rounds throughout the weekend and just keep score. Could be a good croud builder too !

I think that one the best is Serafin from Spain.
