Cup of the North
Date: Feb 6,7 and 8th, 2004
Venue: Kinsmen Aquatic Centre, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
Entries: *Limited entry
Men’s Division: 8 teams
Women’s Division: 4 Teams
Club Division: 6 Teams
Eligibility Criteria: The philosophy of this competition is to provide a high level competitive event with maximum playing time (i.e. 10min halves for all games and a minimum of 5 games guaranteed).
Men’s Teams: Men only, no women allowed.
Women’s Team: Women only, no men allowed.
Club Teams: Mixed teams will be allowed. The level of the competition in this division may be lower than in the Men’s or Women’s Divisions, which are meant to attract the highest level players. There will, however, be no restrictions regarding the playing level of any individual who chooses participate in the Club division.
*NOTE: Players are permitted to play in one division only.
Entry Fee: $450 Cdn/team until first entry deadline. The entry includes, a souvenir of the event and a banquet /after party.
*NOTE: Registrations are not considered complete until entry form is received and fees are paid in full.
**NOTE: Games are scheduled to run into Sunday evening, followed by a banquet to be held on Sunday after the finals (see schedule below). Teams are encouraged to plan their travel schedules to depart on Monday.
Entry Deadlines: Registrations received before January 10th, 2004 will be assessed the above entry fee. If the divisions are not filled at this point, entries will continue to be accepted, but will be assessed an additional Late Fee of $50 Cdn/team. No entries will be accepted after January 20th. An Official Entry form will be sent to interested teams upon request by contacting dwobrien@telusplanet.net . The form which will be a word document which may be returned electronically or faxed (780-463-0612). Entry fees may be paid by cheque or money order in Canadian or US $ (based on the current exchange rate on the date of cheque) to be received by January 10, 2004.

Saturday: Games all day (08:00 – 22:00)
Sunday: Games and Finals (08:00 – 18:00)

Accommodations: Billets can be provided if requested in advance at the time of registration. If hotel accommodation is desired, information can be provided.
POST-TOURNAMENT EVENT…SKI THE ROCKY MOUNTAINS
Following the Cup of the North, interested participants will have the opportunity to travel to the majestic Rocky Mountains for a week of skiing/snowboarding. Subject to interest, and the availability of transportation, travel may be coordinated. However, lift tickets, accommodation and meals are the responsibility of the individual. Tentatively, the plan would be to depart on Monday, Feb 9 to Banff for skiing from Feb 10th to 14th at various areas, either Sunshine, Lake Louise or Norquay. For those whose interest may be cross-country as compared to downhill, extensive opportunities are available.
