singapore river raft race 2004

a big halo to singapore canoepolo family....

for the benefits of doubts... singapore polytechnic has been hostin every year singapore river raft race (srrr). every year there will a canoepolo competition in the event... as usual... in 2004 there will be a canoepolo com.

and sp canoein club will be coordinatin the com... for srrr2004 we will be tryin to open the com to a wider group of player and sch...

in the mean time i hope to see comment bout the last com... so we can improve on it...

any other information will be posted here so stay tuned for more...

i think the tradition of canoepolo competition held during SRRR is that SP do not rent the boat to other team but instead they lend it (only the acrobats) to other team and those team who participate do not need to pay to register for the game instead they were invited(there is a certain reason behind it).

if anyone is thinking of borrowing vampire from SP for the game besides SP students, i think he can wait long long until the day he die also don't have.........ok?

now back to SRRR.....i think the goalpost made last yr is good...anyway....there is a lot of things which the students have no say like how many teams can take part.....the sch does the talking and the students carry out the action.

actually... the sch have give us more freedom tis time... the sch wants next year srrr to be big as i say... so invitin more team is possible...and who say bout askin the team to pay to play... no 1 did...

the part where i say bout rentin the boats is bcos if the jcs are goin to play.... den we provide the boat...with a price...or else where they find boats and it also solve the transportation pro for they...hope i answer any doubts...

1stly... the vamp boats are competition boats... even durin trainin we give a lot of care to it...

I totally agree!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The one i'm using has all the stuffings cut too! now i have to use the abandoned spray deck to support! Must ask henry to work out something.....

Anyway, as the deadline comes nearer, the juniors will work out themselves for sure, like what happened to us last year, spend the whole night beforehand to finish that quick-and-easy goal post. I believe that it is as per tradition that the SRRR canoe polo competition only has got one catogary so as to solve all problems. But things can change these days. From the day i started playing till now, we see the canoe polo scene change so much so that the senior players come back feeling lost....

Frankly change depends on how you look at it.

Certainly the standard of play had changed and so had the standard of equipment.

The way of playing the game had change and so had the atmosphere.

The number of teams had exploded which is a good and bad thing. Much will depends on how it is handled.

What had not changed?
In my opinion, the level of "organised-ness" from year to year. Nothing against the organiser who already did a tremendous task organising it.
But this is probably the area to focus on to make the event grow from strength to strength.

This is prehaps the event that pre-dates the national championship in trying to get people to come together and play a game we all like.

halo....updates on srrr....
yah...there will be prelim roundb4 u reach the finals...its not gg to be a knock out in the prelims.... and all the prelims will be held in sp swimmim pool...the semis and finals will be at clarke quay...there might be a possiblities of havin the ladies playin against the guys... ITS NOT HAVIN MIXED TEAM....

theres no need to pay ani money... even if u wish to borrow the boats... but oni acrobat is provided... and includin the vest.... paddles and helmets can be discuss wit me...

the prelim will start at tthe second week of jan2004 prelim,it will be on friday evenin and sat mornin...(i know its tirin but pls try to understand)...

theres still some area which i cant confirm wit u now...like whether is there a ladies league? but everytink will be done in the middle of the 1st week of jan....we are runnin out of man power so pls bear wit me....

I think NJC started around last december' 03. So they're the young babies of Canoepolo. But they're growing pretty steadily due to their strong foundation in canoeing. I guess they should be tough competition. :barbell:
