See the thread about Polo in Cornwall (I *think* Plymouth is on the Cornwall Devon boundary)
There are teams in Cornwall which seem to be involved in some sort of Cornish mini-league.
Devon sites, particularly Exter may be worth a search too.
I suspect you could end up doing what the other guys did and contacting the BCU ....
..... Is the website back up yet anyone?

There are teams in Cornwall, Plymouth & Exeter.
Contact James Seuter, he is organiser of the south west polo leagues. He will be able to give you contact details.
His email address is: jso273@aol.com

Im living in Plymouth and have been looking for a polo team everywhere but i cant find one. Its as if the game hasnt yet been invented yet. Im at Duchy college and posted many a reply to the polo in cornwall thread. Please if anybody wants to start a team in plymouth tell me cos im definately in. Ive contacted port of plymouth canoe cllub and they told me that they dont do polo (although the BCU tell you they do). If anyone knows of a team or wants to star one tell me. :bang:

Steve (recently posted to the Div 3 / Div 4 expansion thread) may be worth contacting. He's fairly aware of what's going on in the South West and might be able to give you further contacts.

Hi.
There are a number of clubs / teams actively involved with polo in Cornwall, at varying distances from Plymouth. (Had the same frustration, having lived in Plymouth recently...) There are also a few players travelling further afield to play in higher level leagues.
Bude, Culdrose, Hayle, Newquay, Penzance, Porthpean all play in the Cornwall league over the winter.
Personally I am involved in running Bude Canoe Club- We are quite a small but friendly club but interest in polo is growing all the time and we welcome anyone to come along and see what they think. Club nights are Wednesdays, Winter pool sessions 8 - 9:30 PM
Feel free to contact me if you would like more information, either on Bude or for contact details for other clubs above.

Hey,
Just to say its nice to see a fair few south west polo people registered on this site. I play for Hayle Canoe Club and its nice to have a friendly Cornish League and good competitive spirit down here, unlike where i used to play (London). Quite a few red cards flashed!!

I'm going to be moving back home to Plymouth from this summer and would really like to keep playing polo (have been playing it at uni). It looks like there isn't a team in Plymouth or very nearby - is anyone interested in starting one maybe?
