hi everyone, I've just found out that there are plans to create a national tornanment in the west midlands. I dont know much about it yet but a venue has apparently been found and for once its in a very public place (the second largest shopping centre in britain). ill keep you posted on any developments.

........ Is there a shopping centre in the West Midlands with the sort of water 'feature'/facility to cater for such an event?

I know there's the lake at the NEC - but that site doesn't match the rest of your description.

Who is trying to set this up?

It's true discussions are taking place between Lee from Blakedown, the British Waterways Board and Chelsfield the owners of the Merry Hill Shopping Centre, Dudley. Both Blakedown and ourselves Dudley CC have tried before without success however Lee has worked wanders and things are looking good at the moment, lets keep our fingers crossed.
