Hi there,

I use to know a few people from the USA squad but I am unsure how many of you are still hanging around.

Anyway, I was wondering if there is any development of U21 Ladies being done in the US as I am trying to encourage other countries to send their younger age groups to the Worlds in Japan.

We're really worried about the ladies U21 squad here. Not even sure if we can make a team for the upcoming Continental Cup. It is definitely not a likelihood for 2004 :(, but we are hopin for 2006 (cross your fingers)

Hey Aaron,

Although the chances are slim, there is still some potential to have a Ladies U-21 from the US next year. However, a lot of things must be sorted out before a commitment could be made. Availability of players and cost concerns are the biggest factors that cause us to be as tentative as Alan has noted.

We do have a squad that is actively training (alongside the Men's U-21 players). They'll have a full team for the 2003 America's Cup and will compete in the Senior Women division. Also, we've recently seen increasing participation at regional levels with some up-and-coming players who might join the national squad over the next few months.

So, the US will definitely make an effort to send a team, even if the likelihood is low at the moment.

Hey there. Actually, we have enough players and are sending a U21 ladies team to Nat's this year. There are 6 on the team as we speak. So while the progress is slow, we are still training and plotting! I don't know what the possibility about Worlds is yet. As for myself, I REALLY want to go in '04 and because the U21 league wasn't/still isn't definate, I have commited myself to the US Womans camps in hopes of making the team going.
How about y'all? Have you got a definate team? I would love to talk with some of them!
Monica.

GB have had an U21 squad for around 4 years now and will continue to do so as it is important to develop the sport. I will let the ladies from last years squad know that you would be interested in talking to them to see if any will log on

I met some of the GB U21 girls
but they only said something to me after i got thrown in the pool at the worlds after-party. one girl asked me if i was cold or something. obviously i was, cause i was soaking wet. mike decided i had lipped him off too much for calling him our waterboy so him, kyle, clinton, and some south african U21's all helped to throw me in the pool. it wasn't the funnest. but it was kinda funny. i ask him if he missed being our waterboy a little while ago and he almost beat me up... i guess maybe i should shut up, but i never do. well ijust thought that was kinda funny so that's all for now folks.

Lee, I didn't throw you in the pool. I only saw you all wet, and asked what was going on. I was clearly far too intoxicated to toss my little willy in that cold pool that night.

i can definately sympathize- i was also thrown in the pool at the after-party, by a crazy irish ref and funnily enough some south african u21s (although i guess since i was on the south african team it's not quite so random). i was too intoxicated to realize that it might be a good idea to change and so i wandered around, dripping wet and freezing cold for awhile until i was strong-armed back to our campsite to change.

Ok, so with Worlds supposedly on the schedule for the U21 ladies in the US in 2004, what is everyone doing for training? I can't get a hold of Mark, and I would like to actually talk to those on the team. David, do you have a schedule of payment dates? I need these to start littering my email. And with the cost of plane tickets, I would really like to schedule mine soon. Is there anyone else reading this that didn't go to Cali in Oct that is interested in playing on U21 woman? We could always use more.
Mark, if you read this, let me know what is going on. All I have heard is that the U21 isn't going to Cup of the North. I would like to be kept up to date with the rest of the team members too.

Monica.
