View Full Version : Week between USnats and CC

Hey guys,
I know there has been some discussion of what to do the week between these 2 competitions. It's still a long way away, so we don't need to get carried away with plans yet, however:
If the border is still unfairly closed to CDN beef, I do not want to spend one more day or one more cent than I absolutely have to in America, supporting unscrupulously subsidized and protected industries. Why don't we high-tail it for the southern border (right past TJ..) and spend the week with our other-southern neighbors?
It would be a shame to miss the training camp that is supposedly planned for a few days, but I am getting more and more seriously ticked about once again getting the short end of the stick from American protectionism. Maybe we could set up some training down south?
It might be a pain with the extra driving and logistics (like Mex car insurance), but it's the principle. Think about it. Let me know what you think,
Thanks,
Keegan
PS: I know that some Americans will read this so please accept that this is not a personal affront of any sort. I luv ya'll like brothers, but not your politics.
PPS: does anyone remember what NAFTA stands for?
PPPS: to bring this back on the topic we are all REALLY interested in... YEEEAAAA KAYAK POLOOOOO!
(sorry for the digression)
Keegan, I'm game, only if instead of going past Tiajuana, we stay there for a brief period . just to check it out. Not to get loaded and watch roosters fight. That would be crazy. But I would definitely like to spend a week down in Mexico, you know, keep the wicked summer tan going, chilling on the beach, and drinking coronas where they are the local domestic beer instead of being an import.
Clinton will probably want to come to. Especially if he gets the T-bird. That car is P-I-M-P.
KAP
Oh yeah, and playing some polo in Mexico would be hella tight. The more countries we play in the cooler, not necessarily better, just cooler

I got the T-bird!!!! I'm definitly driving down. Anyone want a ride? It's cheaper then flying and gas from four people is cheap. I can take three people besides me, anymore and it'll be too cramped. Kyle and Chris get first dibs. You also must have your drivers because we're driving 24/7. We'll most likely be leaving GP to Edmonton the Wednesday morning and pickup anyone from Edmonton that's coming with me and continue on driving that afternoon to LA. I'm not going to take the exact same route as the Sacromento Road Trip due to the many near death experiences we encountered  .
I don't know about boats. If I can, I'll try and find some roof racks. If not, I'll try and cut a deal with the OBs.
I will go for a trip to Mexico, but I want to catch some stuff in LA too. I have to go to Abercrombie. I might want to rent a boat too and go do some waterskiing for sure. That would awesome if we got a whitewater boat and get towed behind the motor boat.
Let me know if you want a ride.
(I love my car!)
Clinton :bfire:
Must agree with Kyle here ... the car is pretty SWEET! :headbang:
Andrew won't approve, but that is cause he is a city boy. :bunny:

Jeez, all this talk of cars, you remind me of a road trip from Edmonton to Saskatoon after a polo tourney and surfing at West Ed. mall.
Rich Feucht's car was a gold TA, with the bird on the hood. It cruised around 125kph with a Black Sabbath CD playing all the way home.
Ah, glory days.
Post a picture Clinton.

I agree with Keegan about going to mexico but I still think we should smuggle beef over the border and sell it as a rare delecasy at super high prices. :headbang:
Here is a picture of Clintons new Bad Boy. He brought it over to show it off and I snapped a picture of it with my digital camera. The actual color is a little lighter than it looks in the picture. I hear it came with a kickin' stereo!

Thanks for the pic Brad,
That sounds like its going to be quite a road trip, driving all the way to L.A. in that car. How many people can you take?
He is looking to take four ... three others and himself. :drunk: That way they can share the gas and it should be fairly cheap. He was also talking about getting roof racks for boats, but I think he better just get someone else to take his boats for him!

Congrats on the new car Clinton!
Nice to see you prairie boys getting all environmentally friendly :headbang:
Seeing As I will eventually be in Clinton's new ride, and tend to suffer from mass humility I am going to clear up the fact that it is not actually a smart car. It's a HUGE pimpin' t-bird. It's the farthest thing from envriomentally friendly too. His new baby is packing a massive V8. but then again, that's about as environmentally friendly you'll get around here.

There's no need to be embarrassed Kyle! I'm sure you'll look great in the back of Clinton's car
What are you talking about Mareese, I look great all of the time.

Even after you were hit by that car? I though you might be walking around with a limp. :D

...no that's not what my car looks like. Listen to Kyle, he's thinks it's pimp!!!!!!
I'm not going to be an alcholic for that midweek tour but I really want to spend a night or two in the Mexico scene. If I get arrested I hope I'm only in jail at the most of two days. Any more and it would not be very cool.
I'll get a picture of my car soon hopefully, all the finance's are being taken care of. Just so everyone knows, whoever takes a ride in my new wheels have to :worship: before you get in it! :bgrinhat: LOL

The limp's not from being run over Clinton, and to my knowledge, chicks dig scars.

Clinton how much power does that V8 give?
And remember in Montana there are no speed limits. The rule is drive with caution. So your good to pin it through that state.

it all depends what kind of thunder bird he has. you have just a regular thunder bird , then you have the sport , and last but not least the super coupe. the first 2 push about 165/200 and are ok to hit speeds around 200, so noting to special. the super coupe though has a super charger and gets about 220 horse power to the rear wheels and can hit speeds around 215. the first two are comparable to lets say the z-24 , sunfire gt, regular integra if they are 5 speed a little diffrent story , and the super coupe to about the same thing but with 5 speeds and a turbo kit . i belive clinton was saying his was a sport, please correct me if i am wroung.( clinton you can tell the diffrence by the back vallince (thing under your bumper) if it has thunder bird sc ingraved in it it means its a super coupe and if it dose not then it will be a sport . i know yous is not just the regular one though becuse it is a v-8 not v-6.hope this helps. clinton make sure you check to see if it is a super coupe, if it is you are going to want to check some things on it that you may not no you had. it looks like a great buy , im super happy for you and i hope you love your car. and remember a happy car is a clean car, and REMEMBER TO CHANGE YOUR OIL.

Just once..... why do you ask?
And how is it you know where your governor kicks in?
I'm sorry Clinton, but I can't drive with you if you are going to be speeding around like an idiot.

245 km/h then i got scared (the doted lines go solid). still had a more before the red line to(but ...i wanted to live). and clinton i DO want to promote this kind of stuff, so when you are down i can show you how to disengage your governer, it really ease, 5-10 min. my friend danny has the super coupe and said you should try it to see the diff (his governer is out).

sorry my bad i did the conversion wrong from miles/h to km/h (we where using a radar gun, my Speedo dose not go that high so when you bury the needle you need to use the gun to find the speed you are at) . it was only 235, but with some left on the tachometer

Governers suck... I should see where my Z-24's is.... My friends truck kicks in at 160... So to do the governer on a T-bird is it computer or a removable part?
I just realized that this thread originally started as ideas of what is going to happen between US Nats, and the CC. It got off topic. I appologise for being a prude, but does anyone actually have plans for those 4 or 5 days. I know some people are planning on attending the training camp, but I know that others want to avoid it. I guess that I'm looking more towards others on the Mens teams for this. I think that some training in our perspective teams is in order. I guess the question that I'm getting at is if we are going to be staying in LA, or if some touring is required. Clinton, I'm traveling with you, so I'm guessing that you might have a few ideas (Tiajuana)?

Hey Kyle,
I would think that we would take advantage of the opportunity to play and train at a higher level. They have allowed us a couple of days off, so I don't feel that I need to miss a training camp to go see the sights. :twocents: That's just my feelings, I think that we can fit training and a little adventure into the week :drunk: !

Yeah, I just Saw the schedule Rob has for us. It won't be necessary to give up good pool time at the venue.
