HCJC people played well in the national champ :thumbup: , so juz keep up the good work and training :barbell: . dun stop cp bcos of ur coach is leaving..... u all can still do the training as usual as if he is around ... i dont think anyone in this cp circle will want to see u all to stop playing cp lor.... ;) i think those SP people is going in the army wif JC batch , so most likely is dec to jan intake.... there is still alot of time to train up ur skills... :hump: and get ready for the inter-JC competition(if there is one)..... :smilehat:

actually it's not tt we r stopping training totally cos our coach is going for NS (n everyone becoming botak :silly: )...just tt we have alot of other activities to organise and camps etc...somemore no $$ also...funds running really low... :bang:

hmmm... jus addin a few comments... pool slot is not important but u all must see wat is ur aim? to jus play canoepolo or to achieve sumtink?
if u all want to achieve sumtink for canoepolo.. den its best to have lots of land trainin...and make the best out of it...
for me... i love canoepolo to the core...and spent quite alot of personal time on land training... havin pool slot is great but normally for singapore player we neglect alot of the basic skill required for canoepolo which evolve from many land trainin session.... everyweek i hope to achieve sumtink....in term of fitness, shootin, passin.... and its nver enough...i hope u guys can work it out and be ready for comin competition.... :twocents:

yeah clarke has really provided some insight :bow: but as chickenontherun has said, for us hcjc, oac main activities actually dun include canoe polo, so our time n $$ is spent on other stuff in general... wadda u mean by land training? like go gym n stuff? :stupid: yeaphx, n hopefully we can go promote this great sport to our juniors next year!! in tt way at least HCJC will be able to noe more about canoe polo... tried getting the canoeists, but the response like not very enthu leh...hmmmx, maybe i will try again? hehe, since got abit :silly: of backgrd (guilty...muahahaha)

yar, for us, it was a new experience when we ventured into cp this year, mainly because we are quite interested in exploring into new areas and are quite water-loving! hope that the next batch of oac instructors will have similar passion and be daring enough to try out this or even more! =)

It's good to see canoe polo catching up so well amongst the JCians..... And I'm especially delighted to see Hwa Chong starting a canoe polo team... :cheers: Was great to have u guys and gals with us the other time! And I'm proud to say that a few of you do have the potential to go far. Btw, some of the best NUS players like Cheng and Kok Tong (not sure if you guys have heard of him but he is a fantastic all-rounder) were from Hwa Chong too. Others include Cheng's brother Lin Kang (who was in the nat'l squad), past Captains Jeremy Teo and Seah Kai, and many more.... :)

Hope to see you guys and gals move on in this sport and hopefully, join us in the near future... :welcome:

In the meantime, study hard and play hard! Keep the fantastic Hwa Chong culture going!

actually we are not really starting a canoe polo team, more of just playing for leisure....haha....but we do have a lot of passion for this sport and hope that we are able to take part in more future competitions....for me personally....if i'm goin to nus after ns......i'll go join the canoe polo team there....yeh....lol :p

haha, thx tong lee for your compliments. i am jizheng, keeper of the match that we played. as pei geok has mentioned, some of us really have the passion for canoe polo, but we have to focus on our core cca, oac. that is why we are not so active in training or such.

but i must say that we are quite a lucky bunch of people. ever since the start of joining the champs. kind people like stanley, simon, libang, jonathan, swistat helping out with our training and grooming. along with our seniors like cheng, seah kai and you to help us also. i guess we would not have come so far with the help of everyone. =)

It's so great to see the enthusiasm in you all! And only after Tong Lee fwd me the thread, then I realise I should chit chat a bit! My home's connection kinda slow, so I dun really surf net much.

Canoe Polo is a wonderful sport, although it is still unknown to the majority. You guys will definitely have the oppurtunity to play, given the diligent individuals who are driving hard to make this sport more popular.

I'm going on Student Exchange Program for half a year next semester, and I'll be studying in Seattle. Luckily, they play canoe polo there!!! But it's in winter! 0-4 deg... Siao Liao! At least I'll get to play once a week, so it's not so bad.

Will catch you guys around when I come back in early July, and keep that spirit high up!

Er... I am tinking Seattle will play in indoor heated swimming pools?? 0-4deg is really too freezing cold to play outdoors man!!! Well, let us know how they play in Seattle when u get there will ya? I'm sure we will all be interested to know how they train there...any differences compared to Singapore ;)

Ex-HwaChongians bring glory to Singapore in the Sea Games!!!

Lingmin, Liling and Meiting, all former Hwa Chong Canoeists, brought us bronze medals in kayaking. Lingmin and Liling came in 3rd in the K2 1000m event while the 3 gals, together with Yunru (a former RJC canoeist) came in 3rd in the K4 500m event.

Btw, Lingmin is also a cp player!
