Hi pple!

Got a brand NEW Brasca Spoon up for grabs...forgot the shaft length, think abt 208 cm before adding blades.... defenders' paddle, the synmetrical kind, with blades not fixed yet...Going for S$350 only!!

Bought it then realised the shaft's abit too thick for my liking so got a Streamlyte instead....Yeah, so if no one wants it, it's gonna lie UNUSED and UNLOVED in the store :(

Pls reply if ur interested, thanx! :music:

Yo Mist,

For a while, I thought you were selling a real spoon. As in for scooping soup.

You do not have to leave it untended if you can't find a buyer. Can try to fit a shaft of a different brand on it though I'm not too sure if it can fit especially since all Brasca blades are custom made for a particular shaft.

I've tried both the Brasca equivalent of the Eclipse as well as the Kinetic and the shaft feels alright. Or maybe the problem lies with the size of your hands. Hmmm... :)

hahaha :D

mist is born with silver spoon.... dunno what is soup spoon..... hehe :music:

good idea abt changing the shaft... but think the blades will be a bit too big to fit into a smaller shaft....

:wavey: just my 2 cents worth..... hee~ but might be possible..... :)

Went Rochor Tow Huay today with a friend who was just grad from Tokyo U. He was describing life in Tokyo to me.

Along the streets in Tokyo, you tend to see groups of men in flashy suits with hair dyed gold. These are the local Ah Bengs. They usually loiter along the streets and approach girls who walk past them. The Jap Bengs offer these young girls a chance at stardom. If any girl is keen, she leaves her number with the Jap Beng who will contact her for further arrangements.

The girls end up being superstars.
In porn movies.

A slice of life in Japan just when you think things can get no weirder.

But at least now you know who to look out for in case anyone is desperate for moolah to fly back to Singapore.

Plus you need only know one Jap word.

anyway duncan mentioned that inter-club is opened to all clubs worldwide...so i believe any club in spore interested need to go thru scf rite? i figured we need to get any necessary info from scf in order to proceed.
if nus is not sending a team, anyone interested in organising an own team to go up and get burnt?:bfire: the japs are oredi one and a half boat lengths faster than us in a 40m arena...imagine how much we wld get burned at start charge in aust...tink even before we can pick up we must defend liao...haha..and also to ah yong we got burned so badly..the jap in asian games started behind him and ended up a boat length in front of him without reaching the half pool..haha
estimate budget for the aussie comp wld be ard 1.3k per peson not including competition fees.
good luck to all for the exams man...taking a much needed breather... :reindeer: haha this is damn cute!

If you really must know, the standard of play is generally higher in Aus than in Japan.

Of course the Japs are good. But hey there must be a reason why the coach in Japan is an Aussie and the coach in Australia is... an Aussie. Think the only old guards left to testify to this are probably yours truly, Cheng, Kang, Kok Tong and Hanrong. Can't rem if Yeong was there in 2000 too. But the few of us had the good fortune to play against the Japs and the Aussies. Stupid Tze Wee had the best chance in the world to go - cheap airfare, reasonable subsidy, loads of beer and good fun - but chose to reject it. Then of all places, his girl has to study in Aus and now he's flying to and fro. Alamak, friend... But at least he was wise enough to join us get trashed by the Japs in HK last year.

OK digressing here.

The Japs generally play a rather conservative game as compared to the Aussies. We mostly see them planning how to go in for a kill, make a rush for it and score! The Aussies are, put simply, rather mad. To know what I mean, just talk to me or any of the Ah Laos I mentioned above. We saw an array of amazing stunts in the pool done by the Aussies when we went Perth to get trashed in 2000. But we managed two amazing stunts of our own.

Amazing Stunt #1
Despite being placed 6th out of 7 teams, all of us went home with a medal each. Team NUS' very first overseas medal.

Amazing Stunt #2
Despite considered pygmy-sized by the average Aussie, we managed to wipe out the entire breakfast table single-handedly every morning and still feel hungry. Ongky Tong was there with us. No prizes for guessing who deserved the most credit.

If I were to make a choice myself, I would choose to go Aus. Firstly, I can visit all my old chums back in Adelaide. Miss playing with the lot in a, dig this, heated indoor pool (wooooo ahhhh). And I'm sure we'll be having so much fun we don't want to come back.

Why not Japan? I'll most likely be there next year to hopefully play if not ref if not watch the Worlds so why go Japan now?? If I were to pay a bomb, might as well do so for a more worthwhile cause.

Only problem is the Oceania games are in Oct. Will that clash with exams for those still studying? Oh but as if you guys care anyway... :)

so sad.... nobody answer my qns.. :waah: anwyayz... i searched the net and found the answer to my qns... with regards to the competition format for oceania/aust interclub...

COMPETITION FORMAT
The Oceania Competition will be held in accordance with ICF
Regulations. Categories on offer will include:
· Men
· Women
· Under-21 Men
· Under-21 Women

The Australian Interclub Championships will offer the
following categories:
· Junior (U/18) Male / Female
· Youth Open (U/22) Male / Female
· Open Male / Female
· Veteran (35 years or over) Male / Female

oceania is for n teams... if wanna form club can play in aust interclub, both held simultaneously..

i agree with ray, jepun's ex and might as go next year... but aust's standard very high! :bang: not too sure abt the ladies.. but i think quite high too! just wonder if we'll be able to handle it... it's like a baby cannot crawl yet and wanna run :bfire:

ah well..... if there's a team going, i dun mind playing either jap or aust! never played overseas b4..... so either way it's gonna be so exciting! hehe....... :music:

Ah Leong,

You have been playing overseas since Day 1 of your Canoe Polo career. Ppl like Mist, Placebo etc are those who have never played overseas before :)

Just to clarify my earlier post regarding my opinion on where to go:

My reason for opting Aus over Japan is largely attributed to the fact that the Worlds will be held in Japan next year. If the Worlds were to be held at Aus, then I would most likely choose to go Japan. Plus I have lots of friends in Aus whom I would very much like to visit. That explains my inclination towards going Aus this year.

I look forward very much to go to Japan next year too!! :)

haha eh ray tt time i was only yr1 havent played for more than 6mths..the only thing i can do than is sprint...how to go aust with u guys?anyway jeremy also said i go also useless...way out of my league...tink yong than was nursing his ankle...

aust standard i tink more exciting...cos they play quite open... jap more patient... both are strong...one is cheaper=P also go jap got language barrier...

i super pro oceania cos:
1. its cheaper!!!! tts helps alot!
2. can get to watch more games and hopefully play more
3. can learn more...cos at least all of us know english...took us the entire asian games to figure out wt was manzi...haha
4. there are diff divisions to play in so u play with the teams tt are slightly stronger than u...and get to learn more rather than watch pple play...as for this..maybe ray can help as in wt div standard wld we fall in?

the games is held in an indoor pool...halfway btw brisbane and goldcoast...so more places to play=P and tink our exams in early nov and comp in early oct...and tt i believe..or issit only me... tt start studying only 2 wks before exams...haha maybe tt explains the past 2 papers i have been mugging like crazy and am deemed for failure..haiz... haha...lanz lanz..

anyway since the day i brought this idea of gg to aust forward the response has been lukewarm. was hoping nus wld send in a reasonable team to expose ourselves to higher level...and hopefully help us..considering after asian games we improved by learning..this trip will be beneficial. if nus shows no interest or fail to gather a team..maybe got to outsource...=(

and to ah leong..the aust gals tink can whack our nus team1 easily... so wt do u tink of their standard??? be prepared to c things that u tot gals cant do...haha

Think the only category we can join is Open.

The division you're talking about is more on a state level. At intra-state level, clubs are grouped into Grade A, B and C teams.

Grade A can be approximated to international level. Many of the players are either state players or national players. Level of game play = Very High.

Grade B is somewhat like our local men's teams' standard. All of us are proficient in basic drills like rolling, stern dips etc. Level of game play = Moderate.

Grade C is everything else. Youngest player I've ever seen in Adelaide's Grade C circuit was approx 10 yrs old. She can barely fill the ****-pit. Oldest player was around 50+, 60 yrs old. You won't bear to give them hand tackles. Level of game play = Fun!

Players are self graded. Which means if you think you're good enough to play in Grade A game, you go for it. Rarely does anyone try to overstep their boundary if they cannot meet the standard. I tried a few Grade A games when a team was short of players. It was a real eye opener. Real opener indeed. Way different feeling to play a game where every single player plays better than the best player you can find in Singapore and Malaysia combined.

Male and female players are not segregated. There were many mixed teams when I played in Adelaide. Some of the better female players include Belinda Ness, Megan Holmes (sister of Anton) etc. In fact, one of the top teams in my Grade B league was an all-ladies team! Their average age was about 35. How's that for inspiration, huh?

If the standard of play was like the Inter-Club held in Perth in 2000, then you can expect many, if not all, teams to be of Grade A or A- calibre. Get ready for some tough challenge.

Expect strong competition and be prepared to lose badly. For the ladies and maybe the men, do not be put off by what I wrote. It's always exciting to play against stronger teams. Remember that you learn fastest when you fall hardest.

I can't comment on Japan because the only Jap team I've played against is the Japan national team. But I believe the local competition would be tough and challenges would be very exciting. The players going may even get a chance to try out the Worlds competition grounds in Miyoshi.

Tough choice, yeah?? :)

heh heh...ah leong tink u will c alot of the ball...cos always starting from centre of the pool...haha...

we can try to c if we can struggle or sink against the gradeA or have a fighting chance against the gradeB..but than for this open category, are they seperated into diff grades or a general one for all?

gradeA maybe beneficial if the other party is frenly...like the japs.. they pulled back and let us attack...or issit their strategy to fast break us? hmmm....either way we learnt the rotational defence there...haha... personally i wld like to try gradeA..not tt i m gd or anything..i m far from good..but once in a while u wld wan to play with top notch players...like wanting to kick football with zizou or figo...top notch players but playing with them will definitely improve ur game. faced with all these grades...it sorta reminds me of my results tt i m expecting...C...haha... kanna sai...

hi there friends,

this is shuhei writing from japan.
i have been to sin 3 years ago so that hopefully some of you remember me.

sorry for interrupting your hot discussion but i woud like to give you some comments from my point of view.

/i recommend that you should choose aus.
/the reason is simple. aus is much stronger than jpn.
/aus got 3 times world champion, jpn got 14th place in the last worlds.
/they have a lot of strategy and tactics, which you will learn a lot.
/we also made a tour to aus 6 years ago, which became a wonderful experience for us.
/we have tournaments on 7/8th and 15th in june.
/you will find some strong teams also in jpn.
/even so you still choose jpn, we will most welcome you.

should there be any questions, pls feel free to contact me.

cheers,

shuhei

In anycase i think info abt Oceania can be accesed from the homepg. On the rt hand side. Well, Shuhei thank you for the information there.... and ah ray i think youve got a pt there. I'm for the idea of forming just a group of people who wanna go to Oceania and play the inter club. Not sure if we have to go through SCF ...if we need to...think we should go check out their response first...ahahha dont later all our Maggie mee and sneaker bars packed alrd then we cannot go!?!?

Well... it's been a good weekend for us ay?? all the exposure... in the media but let's keep the ball rolling.. if touch rugby and sailing can grow in singapore... i dun see why we can't. Thing is, we have to function both as players and promoters of our sport...ahah cos unlike netball...we dun have paid executives to do it for us. On the other hand... i will try my best to look for sponsors for the team once i finish exams .......

No worries abt the higher standards lar!!!! We must go there and learn mah. It definitely won't be my first overseas trip feeding on bread and maggi mee ahhaha

One more plus pt for Oceania....can go surfing!!! WoohooooooO!!!!
hehehhehe

alrity...
hope we do work out sthg...to go somewhere.... well currently ... im more inclined towards aussie....cos near goldcoast heheheheh

sorry for interrupting your hot discussion but i woud like to give you some comments from my point of view.

/even so you still choose jpn, we will most welcome you.

should there be any questions, pls feel free to contact me.

cheers,

shuhei

Hi there Shuhei,

WHY DIDN'T YOU GO PUTRAJAYA????????? We were looking forward to seeing you in Malaysia. Hope things are going well in Japan.

Maybe we can meet again in the playing field at Asian Cup Putrajaya 2004?

Cheers!

Pls let me set your mind at ease regarding the hospitality issue. I lived in Aus for 6 mths from Jul 2000 - Jan 2001 and played at Adelaide and Perth during that same period. All the time, I've never once felt alienated by the Aussies. They are simply a truly hospitable bunch! As long as you're not a hermit by nature, you can find a friendly Aussie about round every corner!

The Japs are also an extremely fun lot! You will know why if you were in HK with us last year. Everyone at the champs wanted a piece of the Japs. Esp when we had our end of competition dinner at Jumbo restaurant, almost everyone rushed to kampai with them.

Most Canoe Polo players are a fun bunch as long as you make an effort to open up. From Down Under, to tropical Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand, up North to HK, Macau, Taiwan, move West to Czech (only European country I've had a chance to play with/against), you can rest assured that you'll have a good time.

Aussie guys not as cute as Japs? IMHO, I think Singapore guys the best. Am I right, guys???

Just remembered something.

Has Mist sold her Spoon?
No.

Has there been any enquiry about it?
No.

Will she sell it soon from this thread?
Don't think so.

It's still available, I believe.
Pls do let her know if you're interested.

My opinion

Hi, this is Kneta Hoya from Tokyo.
I've joined to the Asian Cup, the World's and Putrajaya Int'l
as a captain of the Japan national team. Some of you guys may meet me then.
And use to be a classmate of Shuhei in high-school days.

Now I give my opinion here that I saw your interest discussion in this couple of days.

Once we, Japanese players, also longed for overseas high-level canoe polo so much just like you, fulled of aspiration.
(of course, we're still fulled of aspiration)

Unfortunately, the organization didn't work well at that time.
So we made expeditions to overseas, for instance UK, Australia and Taiwan, by ourselves as a local club team and worked very hard for a fund of expedition.

We had learned that we have to see more of the world when want to make progress in competitive canoe polo from these experiences.

As you know, both UK and Ausrtralia has their own styles and know-how.
(of course, the other countries may has that, too)
We can't compare which is the fittest one for us, if we didn't see plural countries.

The other hand, Taiwan let us know that the real rival for us is in asia.
We have improved together through friendly rivalry and known the possibility of asian players who has less of physical advantage of the world-level.

In conclusion, I would recommend you should better to go to Australia for this time.
You should see the other countries excepting but asia.

But, I put the competition calendar in Japan here just for reference.

7th - 8th June "BOTA cup" in MIYOSHI
15th June "SAKURA cup" in SAKURA
27th July "AKAYAKO cup" in GUNMA (far from north Tokyo)
early in August "SAKURA training camp" with Taiwan national players in SAKURA
23th - 24th August "AWARA cup" in AWARA (far from north MIYOSHI)
20th - 21st September "Japan Championships" in AWARA

"SAKURA" is the home town of my club team "SAKURA INVERS" that has most of natinal players and located very close to the Tokyo international airport.
This is our HP. (but, just in Japanese)

If you come to Japan, especially SAKURA, let us know.
We can help and paddle with you.

Hey all..

oki am pretty confused now..so where are u all gg? jap or Aus? If u guys are g to Aus when? If u guys are gg in late june i might be able to hop onto the band wagon coz its near New Z anways...

I'm q tempted to play in the graded aussie thingy, less stress coz can choose which criteria we can participate in.. BUT there's this thing called IVPs.. which might clash and the sniors like ah leong and mist cant go... (u all betta not think abt not gg for ivps k..... brr)

Unless the IVp is cancelled.. like this year's SDBF... which kinda sucks coz then the juniors wouldn't have experienced what it was like playing other teams... :(

Which also brings to mind the fact that there are less and less gal teams out there.. they are all dropping like flies.. man.. this is icky. :thumbdown Let's hope that the publicity gives us the necessary blitz we need man... its so frustrating that there are so few gal teams out there...

Darn the more i tok abt cp the more i wanna play... argg.... but because :stupid: i need to work harder esp after the nightmare paper.. (join the club Nerbs... my paper was a plain nightmare. think am gg to F it. no pun intended)

Ok shall go study hard and seek divine help. :worship:

:lepr: hi to everyone posting in this thread, just referring to Placebo's post on fewer gal teams. I think on the contrary to wat Placebo said , i believe there are more ladies team here in Singapore then it was before two years back.

In the last IVP, NUS, SP, NP, TP, all sent a ladies team and there was an team called Triggerfish, if i remember correctly its not from any of the institute above.... :wavey:

Perharps the last Singapore River Raft Race gave u guys a wrong impression as there weren't any ladies team ... cept for an exhibition match played by NUS alumni gals n their current female players..... :headbang:

I'm a newbie to this sport with just barely 1 yr plus of playing experience... but i believe u guys shld go for the ocenia competition as u will play in a higher level of playing field n know how top teams play... and perharps u can set a benchmark for your teams to achieve on... :karate:

As for IVP... there ain;t any news about it.... N i wonder who are the organisers this time round... hope i correct but last IVP was done by NP n NUS...

Just my 2 pennies worth of contribution.....

eniwaz i really hope that the league will be postponed to next year so i can play..... yeah.. :headbang: but i guess it's not up to us... how about doing some modifications of the league .. like holding it in a day instead of over 2 weeks... maybe find a venue with 2 pools... have temperature check every few hours or before your game... and it's outdoors right so not that bad .. can have vitagen to sponsor us instead of h2o.. adn instead of a helmet with holes.. we can have one that is space suit like.... :hump: ... or we can just get ourselves quarantined 10 days in which we request to be quarentined in nus pool (since it's unused) and we can hold a 10 day league... .... okok... i'm going mad.. (blame it on the exams..)

hey winkey, know that CP has certainly improved leaps and bounds since it first started X yrs ago.. but my worry is that continuity.. Teams may form, but they dun stay... Some polys have said that due to a lack of female players (coz thier juniors quit or sthg) they have a real hard time getting enuff pple to play.. so yea that's my real worry- :(

Anyhow, aussie.. mebbe coz my coz and best fren is over there.. but ne xealand is prettier and yes, legolas is prettier than beach bums. But unfortunately i dunch like legolas la.. dun like blonde guys (no ofence to certain blonde gals in NUS CP)

BUT.. i wanna go prancing ard along the rolling hills LIKE legolas. yea.. NZ is really pretty.. come visit me la! wahaha

Hi Placebo and anyone who may be tuning in,

Think unless someone you know is down with SARS, you would not fully realise the seriousness of this issue. As most of you may know, I work in the airport. Incidentally, I'm currently involved in strategising the containment of SARS for Changi Airport, which is a main avenue for the influx of the virus. And I can tell you that we're going all out to curb the introduction of any new cases.

Though sometimes the procedures certain organisations put in place may seem a little silly (read: purple elephant's chop etc), I think most of us should be sensible enough to look at the bigger picture of the entire situation. I'm fairly sure the authorities are trying their best to keep the situation under control.

If you have any constructive comments or improvements to suggest to the authorities regarding the procedures they have put in place, pls do put it forward to them. Give them a call or an e-mail to inform them. In this way, loopholes can be more effectively plugged and we can reduce the number of people infected with SARS.

We all have a part to play in the fight against this (near) epidemic. I look forward to the day WHO declares the world SARS-free.

Cheers

@ndrew
28-04-2003, 01:01 AM
SARS is indeed serious but wt nus has done is less than convincing. they allow large gatherings before screening which defeats the purpose of isolating those who are ill. students are only allowed into the exam hall after they are screened but those in nus know that it is like clusterf***ed outside the exam hall before papers. i m not saying the the screening is useless. it does serves it part but than maybe more stringent checks to provide better protection wld be nice. its better to be overzealous than to have an entire infection of nus. maybe those who has not had a friend or family member in the front line wont feel the strain of it...my sister in law is a doc in SGH..bro doc in SAF. containment measures hav been prepared and the threat is very much alive..
.. hmmm... wonder if it maybe govt's bid to cut down on unemployment... simply by cutting down those who r gg to be unemployed...namely us when we grad=P keke joking here....

like LKY has said, sars is here to stay man...as main source of the virus is unknown...it may remain dormant in another host before revealing its head in maybe like 10yrs later?? we shldn't change our lives because of it( why the pool still not open!!!=( sad sia) but take more precautions...or rather just be more hygieneic...=)

and do u guys know hotel rates damn cheap now in spore!!! where got chance to stay in swissotel(last called westin) for 188nett for 3d2n! wah lao..its a steal man...haha...okok some pple may say waste of $ stay in hotel in spore...but damn after exams and stuff it does feel nice to be pampered once in a while=)

yoz pple... i'm so dead for my paper today... :waah:

eniwaz i know the seriousness of sars just that i dun like the way they keep changing wat the hostelites are supposed to do..

but i guess they are just finding ways to make things easier.... :hump: i bought myself a nice electronic thermonmeter coz i dun think i'm very good with glass ones... (broke it within 5 mins after obtaining it)

hmm... i think someone should invent a sticker-size thermonmeter... that can be inserted into your ear or somewhere to take temperature.. then the readings are transmitted to a card hanging around your neck... or pinned on your clothes.... or worn on your hands and maybe even change colour when readings turn crucial.... so everyone is aware of not only your own but others temperature at all times.
furthermore, it'll make things easier for like the security guards in public places like the mrt to spot and disallow pple of high temp to enter...

okaz enough of depressing talk... yah placebo ..i'm still watching my animes... now at naruto 28.. it's getting super exciting with the forest... :gun: ... we must try and exchange episodes kaz... coz yah now getting tougher and tougher to get animes....

Who's ur fav?? I think rock Lee's DAM farny and he gets really powerful later...

Yea sars, i guess 2 sides to a coin and all aside, serious measures should be taken..but serious commensensical measures should be taken.. Halls arent exactly given hostelites an easy time and i seriously doubt falling in every morn at 9 am is an effective move! its cool to take temp before u go in the exam halls(purple elepahnt chop and all.. it was ment to be a funny anecdote la.. not that i was thumbing at this move ;) )..
but banning msians from going back to halls after they have gone back over the weekend is overkill man... why can;t they just take their ttemps when they return or sthg instead of imposing an absolute ban? so yea, am not making noise coz of the measures, rather i;m pretty disturbed at the way they are carrying things out that aren';t making us feel any safer.

Anyhow, steps of curbing sars aside, i also erally hope it gets contr9olled.. hopefully a cure would come our way soon...

hey all!

i just remembered sthg impt.. this applies to all gals and guys teams/alumni of NUS, so feel free to give suggestions...

The pool at SRC is closed indefinately until further notice due to the Sars outbreak.. Trg will be starting soon and we have to come up with a contingent plan for trg..esppool slots..

Anysuggestions?

Pddle culture? Must pay though, and the pool's pretty small for the guys team... Payment's not rally a big issue, coz we have a large number of players.. and the cost prob wun be That high..but am rather worried abt the trg and all..and the divison of pool slots, the sceds... etc etc..

anyhow, am game for more suggestions..

and the other thing- IVP... it might be cancelled.. but i do hope we can still have a few official matches just for the sake of exposure... Though the Sars thingy is really q scary and dangerous.. is there any way we can erm.. overcome it? safety precautions maybe?

WhaSsUp :headbang: ...
k, whatever the decision may be, one thing for sure... i'm NOT for cancelling IVP. :o but this is my pt of view only lah.. the situation is bad, i admit... lotsa changes have to be made in our lives (eg. temp screening, restricted activities, etc) ever since the whole sars thing started. but life has to go on. PM Goh has already said that life has to go on, just that we hafta make necessary changes here and there to cope with the current situation. and i do agree with him. it sounds logical... we wun know how long this thing will last.... just hafta live with it and make the necessary precautions.

and with regards to ivp, we can surely take neccessary precautions too! like health declarations, temp screening, etc. lotsa activities have been postponed since the start of the outbreak (community activites, taekwondo ranking test, etc.... chk the news) and all these activities have resumed recently. but with the health screening put in place.

what say you? i say we live life as usual, in a smart way!

psst...... chk this out manz.... airfares are super low now! $550 on SIA to aust! let's go brisbane in oct! :D

word of advise is not to get the tic to brisbane now first. SARS cannot be certain that it is controlled. also need to look out for developments world wide...and also the inter-club thing no confirmation. wait till more concrete stuff is being said before we make the move...anyway also dun tink pple will get committed tt early too....
how abt kallang as a place to train? we can keep our kayaks in the nus shed...if we r willing to leave our personal boats there...but our polo community so small...if pple steal also easi to find out... kallang is free...and hell so much space..u row to 1k point and row back u oredi dead liao...haha... but than its very straining there due to the hot sun and salty water..but its a damn good place to train if we wanna improve our fitness. but no goal post but shldnt be a problem...jeremy once said no goalpoast u train by throwing as far as u can...mechanics of the arm throwing and wrist is the same..if u can throw damn super far ur shoot 99% wld be super hard...than when go back into nus pool can train accuracy...
was hoping some kind souls can lend us their pool...or we can go for tactical nite training....illegally! haha...
as for the ivp, no sound from the committee...last yr cheng and ray did alot of help but than tis yr they r working personnel...so no one to take the lead also...no one to initiate, it will not take off...
as for the idiotic 3 mths holiday...i oredi got a bloody 9wks IA... startin from nxt monday can....so no chance to even go for a holiday...super xianz...and i wanted to boost spore economy...haha....

Just a word of advice Tze Wee

The keeping of boats at the NUS shed at Kallang is not free of charge... Each orginzation which place their boats there have to pay a monthly rental of around $10-$15 per boat (I'm not too sure about the price) Unless there is vacancy in the NUS shed....

Sorry to all ah! Wasted a space in the forum, cos my server keeps giving me probs...nvm..anyway, this reply refers to the last reply to Hoya's msg...

Thank you Hoya for your contribution in this forum.
Just hope to hear from you, what do you recommend to the ladies team from Singapore?

I am sure, you guys from Japan and also from Singapore have been traveling quite a bit to play polo and meeting many people from all over Asia. But it's totally different for the ladies players here. Personally, I would very much like to meet the Japanese players as I have with my ladies team played with the Hong Kong and Taiwan team last year. There are very few ladies teams as compared with the guys teams in Asia, but to compare in this way is like comparing between apple and orange.

Hope to hear from you again if you happen to visit this forum!

Thank you once again!

hehehe :wavey:

dun "SOMEONE SOMEONE" me lar....sorry lar.... i was too bloated after my dim sum buffet to play polo lar...ahhaha so i tuaded you all...heheh all the exam angst taken out on my stomach :D

hmmm regardign the Oceania thingy we are asking about it alrd...
so i hope we get a reply soon.. from SCF.

Anyways regarding the league or competition...well... we shld all know by now that nothing happens for our sport by itself... so if we really wannit...we must work for it ... . Sure thing the people who did the coms the last time can do it again... but that's not the point lar... we so small community ..nicer if everyone can chip in right? Well for starters, if there is no time to get prizes and source why not just have a nice weekend of frenlies? ending off with a bbq?? at cheng's place at big splash? can play beach volleyball, drink beer at mahalo....sounds like good stuff ay? :D

There is no need for prizes... those are extrinsic rewards that are nice...but surely we can do without at desparate times like this!! hahaha

we are all moving and seeing improvements. Its slowly but surely.

We are going somewhere hunks(?) and babes ahhaha watch out for canoe polo!

yopers...

wizkid, you know the potential buyer is it? anyway, mist is busy moving out of her hall room, so i help her post a reply to the queries....

mist's brasca spoon is not assembled.... it is totally brand new with the blades unfixed... so the person interested (PH, am i rite?) can fix the paddle angle him/herself and need less to say, adjust the shaft length according to his likings.....

it's a pretty good deal! been to mist's house and saw the paddle lying at a corner of her living room. super new, never touched water before.

anyway, i'll ask mist to take note of this and contact PH!

For your info, i stuck it initially with hot glue but im removing it so u can use epoxy to attach it properly to the angle u prefer...

Still cant believe my luck, haha!

maybe you can attach pictures of the paddle so that ppl who are interested can have a look at the item so as to make the buyer more convinced that its gonna be a good buy?
