I have a couple of moulds......or at least know who has them. Seems to me that you are carring on the great Kiwi tradition of make your own.
Do yourself a favour and just buy a polo boat......so much easier.

a second hand boat is a lot of hastle if its already been beaten up and a new one is out of my price range plus i have the time and it sounds fun

It's only fun if the boat is any good in the end, good luck to you. :bang:

I agree with James, if you haven't made a boat before I wouldn't give it a go. The first five or so boats we made were of very average quality especially the first two! After two years of making boats we were making them a whole lot different from when we started!!! And a good boat was not certain!
You need to be able to spend nearly a grand per boat to get a good weight boat ready to paddle and there is no guarantee that the boat would turn out any good! Kevlar is the best but is a pain in the butt to work with.
I have the Dragon and Dragon BDD moulds but would only lend them out to a few people because I have seen how much damage can be done to an expensive mould!
And seriously why would you want a stingray mould?? Unless you want to go everywhere at very low speed! :)
Some good second hand boats can always be found, they are quite often worth looking at.
You need to also think of what sort of boat these people need, just getting any old mould could leave you with some really unsuitable boats!
