Hi All,
About 6 months ago we chatted about a dutch based junior league and I suggested that maybe my club would be interested in sending over some teams have there been any developments around this I know there was a lot of interest at our club. and someone on this forum suggested there were other club teams from other countries attending.

Hi Mark...
For next month there are already several tournaments planned:
4 May - Venlo
10 May - Kanocentrum De Piet Zeeland.
29 May - Hemelvaarttoernooi, Utrecht/Amersfoort
These are three junior/beginner tournaments, but as you can see, most of them are only for one day, what makes it probably harder for you guys to come over...
There will follow some more, I think the next one is somewhere at the end of June, in Wormer.. again Saturday only...
In October we always have a very nice one in Leeuwarden, that lasts the whole weekend...
I'm not sure if any other non-Dutch teams are participating in any of the tournaments..
Let us know what you think about the feasibility for your team..
There is also a tournament in Oisterwijk at the first of june, but I don't know if there is a junior league then.

On the subject of junior tournaments I've noticed Blakedown are organising a under 16 tournament in england - it would be great if any non-english teams were interested in coming over - see www.clydespolopage.com for details.

- 29th of May is Hemelvaart.. a national holiday in The Netherlands, always on a Thursday (I think it's because of Jesus going to heaven or sth)
- The aim of the tournament is to give youth, but also newcoming teams a nice opportunity to play against their own level.. Of course it's not a problem for someone (a little) older to play along..
- I'm not really part of the group that takes care of these tournaments, but the third one might take place at our club.. The people organising the various events are mostly regular visitors of this forum, so they'll spot your message.. If not I'll drop them a note that you're interested in visiting...
- Below a few other dates of planned youth tournaments I could find..
1 June - Oisterwijk
28 June - Wormer
30-31 August - Warnsveld
October - Leeuwarden
Hi Mark,
I am one of the people organizing an event and yes, happen to visit this site now and again.
The tournament in Wormer (near Amsterdam) on the 28th of June. You can get in touch with me through dvd_heuvel@hotmail.com or info@zwetplassers.nl. If you want to get an impression of our club you can check www.zwetplassers.nl. The site is in Dutch but there lots of foto´s
If you prefer the date on 1 june in Oisterwijk (Near Eindhoven?) you can check these guys:

Hope to see you at one of these tournaments!
