I trust these helmets being made for sale within the EC are CE approved. If they are not, the person selling them is breaking the law !
Also, no one should be using non CE approved helemts in the European Community.
There is a list of CE approved helemts on my web page, and I expect there are many others not listed.

Come on Clyde... you should be a little more reasonable...
In GB you need a CE1385 check.... because the national fedration thinks that polo-helmets should pretect just as good as whitewater helmets...
In my opinion you can place polohelmets into the category of "light anti scalping helmets" within the category of "personal protective equipment"...
Those helmets don't need certification by an official body...
So if you want to be sure to be able to use your helmet at all competitions, follow Clyde's advice....
But telling anybody who sells polohelmets that do not comply with GB rules that they're breaking the law is ridiculous...

the fact is.....
a helmet may be CE approved on its own....
the very instant you attach a face guard to it (meaning you have to use screws and bolts) IT ISN'T ANYMORE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It has to be CE re-approved WITH (!!!!) the faceguard, and as far as I know NO HELMET HAS EVER BEEN APPROVED WITH A FACEMASK attached to it,
this means,... even if your helmet is CE you are still breaking the law if you use it for polo !!
So,... stop all the B*** about it and let everybody take their own choice if they want a helmet that's not strong enough (in the opinion of the law makers),... its their head after all, isn't it! ;)
greetz,
Djorre.

Hendrik are you sure that you sell polo helmets, maybe they could be used as flowerpots, and if someone decides to put a flowerpot with a some wire mesh on their head, then it's a helmet, but you sold them a flowerpot!

1. I'm absolutly sure, that I maufacture polohelmets, and not flowerpotts. I saw that you are a senior member, maybe you are gardener. In germany my helmets are very popular and the most players like the design and look of my helmets.
2. I'm so sorry, but in germany we don't have such ****ing rules for safe helmets. If you want an absolutly protected player, than you should wear an motorbike-helmet. :bang:
3. Dear Evelyn,
if you want, you can order my helmets about my privat e-mail adress hendrik.bretzke@berlin.de.
I think me helmet is safe, you can check that, when you ask other german players, who have one.
If you need further information please do not hesitate to contact me any time.
Thanks a lot!

Hendrik...
He probably didn't mean to offend you on you helmets...
But if selling a homemade helmet would be illegal.. you can just say to the person who's buying one, that it's a flower pot.. and should only be used to grow flowers in you garden... if the buyer uses it at a helmet afterwards, that's not your problem, and you haven't done anything illegal...
You could of course just forget the whole thing and keep selling them as you're used to...
