Hey there,
This thread has two pourposes;
First of all, I am looking for any players who would want to go play in Divison 4 North down in England? Obviously there will be trasport costs on top of the fee of £40 registraion and £70 tournement. However i feel that if people who are wanting to achieve more in polo, then this would be a great oppertunity.

Secondly, this is to anyone who knows about tournements down south:

"Club Affiliation – any team applying for a national league place must be affiliated to the BCU, CA, WCA, or CANI."

Does this mean an SCA membership would be invalid and would have to get another type?

All in all I would need to put in a team by the 30th of June, though i dont need definte details on whos playing till first tourney. So... need 6 enthused players at least... preferably some who can drive.

North is a big area (but still in England as its the BCU) Chris.
It will either be Stockport which is about 3.5 hr drive one way or the new Leed pool which is a big pool! This is a new pool and they are looking to get good use from it.
You can compete under your SCA membership, thats not a problem.
I would look at a squad of 7 players as it will become evident that not everyone will make all the dates. This has been my experience in the past.
Get in there.

If you can get a good team together, idealy with the 7people then i would be intrested, will ask james and keith. James would need to know date in advance as he works off-shore so may miss some. will be in touch

Well if we can get 7 or 8 names then we can put a team in and then figure everything else out later.

Me
Alex Bowie
Chris Red (maybe)
Graeme (maybe)
Andy (possibly)
Jamie and Keith possible

So thats 7 people intrested... just need to get more confrims.

Again need to knw soon cause im goin on holiday on the 27th, and the entires need to be in by the 30th or its an £100 pound late entry fee on top of everything else.

I think so too. I have changed my mind as I don't fancy travelling for 7/8 hours for 4 games.

Hope you get a team though Robbie.

... Well i cant do anymore, im still up for it and i will still be checking for people who want to go.

Remeber this is going to be the best way to improve and the best way to get more compition out of the sport... I mean to travel to Glen Rothes is an hour and half each way from Stirling.:(

Well nobody will say it is a not a long way to go for a few games, but i played at leeds ands it certainly an experience that you dont get up here. Also its good to play against teams that you havent played against before.

It is a long way to go but well worth it. If people want to develop their polo ability then they need to use the BCU leagues aswell as the SCA. I think that my polo skills have come on playing south of the border by playing other teams.

In Scotland there are only 2 women's teams whereas in England I got to play against 9 other teams and then play 2 others at the playoffs.

The 7/8 hour drive is what you make of it. We have a fun day where we drive down and then wader around decathlon in Stockport, play games and then drive back.

A few of the girls have got a team together and will be entering div 4 north aswell as playing in div 2 ladies as we want to play more games this year. So if you do get a team together you will have some friendly faces to play against! :D

Id be interested in playing in Div 4 if there are spaces still available on a team. Ive played in div 4 SE a couple of seasons ago when I was living down that way and would like to get more match experience.
Quite happy to be a sub.
Hope Im not too late to be included
Im trying to get to the sessions at Stirling more often now so would be happy to meet up there, if you wanting to see me play before you say yes!
Cheers
