water in edmonton

whats the deal with the water? i heard the lake is going to be filled with chlorine... and the pitches curtained off with more chlorine in the pools created. anyone got anymore ifno on this? just interested...

The pitches are specially designed so that they are closed off from the rest of the lake. The Chlorine is being added to the pitch areas to reduce the bacteria count in the water to a level that is approved by the ICF I believe. They have tried this process out and found that it works well. The amount of Chlorine that is being added is not alot and while I was told that there was a slight Chlorine smell it was nothing like you would get in a swimming pool!!
The reason for dropping the bacteria count is because of the large amounts of Canadian Geese that use the Lake!!
