View Full Version : Budapest International Tournament
Dear All,
Let me invite you to the 3rd "Budapest" International Tournament, which will be held at lake Velencei (close to Budapest).
The tournement will take place as part of a Water- and Extremesport Festival (starts already on 1st May), among the following sports for example: surf, kitesurf, wakeboard, winch-wake, katamarans, saleing, different types of bicyces, skate, paragliding, bungee-jumping, street motor, rugby rafting etc.
Please not, that the date is planed like that, because 1st May (Thursday)is a holiday in Hungary (and in several other countries), and Friday is also free. If it is a problem, we concider to organize the tournament for the weekend.

hello evi
a bit confused
do you organize two tournaments? one in may and one in july? and what about tata?
Hi Lanoch,
Sorry for being a little bit confusing...
We decided to organise 2 tournaments:
-One in lake Velence (close to Budapest; 1st - 3rd May) as we had the nice possibility to participate that water and extreme sport festival and all conditions are given. But we are not sure that the date is good for a lot teams, that's why we want to know about that before. But originaly we planed that one to be a main tournament.
- And we plan to organize a smaller tournament in Tatabánya as well, but the date is not sure yet. As soon as I know it I will let you know and put the details on canoepolo.com
We hope many teams can come, but depending on that, we are also free to change the dates of the tournaments.

In Ireland and the Uk the May holiday is the first Monday in May so this would affect these countris from travelling. But looking at the international calendar on Wikipedia--> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_holidays_by_country
most other countries seem to have labour day as the 1st May.
Good luck with the tournament.

Hello Adrian,
Yes, I also thought it might be a problem... So I kept the possibility to organize it on Saturday-Sunday if it is better for the teams. Do you plan to come? It would be nice. I can still move the date :D.

Hi Evi
we are a bunch of old fellas who get together every few years to re-live the glory days of polo. We are very intereested but from the previous posts I am not sure what the dates are : can you please confirm - thanks!
(It may be I am just stupid - that is a fact in any case )
Hello,
You are right, the date is not fixed yet, because labour day... Do you prefer Friday-Saturday or more Saturday-Sunday? Recently the Saturday-Sunday seems to be better for most of the teams. Anyway you are welcomed, I am happy if you come.
There are some cheap flights especially from London. www.easyjet.com (http://www.easyjet.com), www.skyeurope.com (http://www.skyeurope.com), www.wizzair.com (http://www.wizzair.com). Let me know the details and then I arrange also a transfer from the airport to the venue.

Hi,
don't you want to make one more final decision and move back the tournament to the 1st and 2nd of Mai? I'd have two kayakpolo meetings in this long weekend. I supposed first the budapest 1st and 2nd and then 3rd and 4th in rome. when you decide to make it on friday and sautrday, the long weekend couldn't be time-available
It was originally planed to take place or 2-3 May (Friday-Saturday) or 3-4 May (Saturday-Sunday). I think the date cannot be changed to 1-2 May. I hope you can solve it somehow, but anyway what about a whole day practiceing on Thursday (1st May)? Because the festival will already begin? Of course I have to speak with the others first, but that seems to be possible...

ok sounds good, I'll ask our guys too for the day of training on Thursday (and beer, sun, swimming, ...). because it is more only about me, the others don't care about the days, I need to go to Rome on Friday afternoon and going to Budapest only for one day is quite bore. If you don't mind we can keep in this issue and maybe arrange something for Thursday, ok?
OK, nice.
Some of us will surely be there, we play some polo, drink some beer and try some of the sports and concerts, there will be on the festival. We only need some sun...
