Hi, SRRR is coming back! but this time it will not be called SRRR, still thinking over a name over it. Reasons: SP have decided tt canoe polo will not be part of the Singapore River Raft Race anymore from this year onwards, as the setting up of the playing area at the river proves very tedious and a waste of time. so everything will be held in SP's new and beautiful swimming pool from this year onwards.
tentative dates of the opening game : 29th march 08
1st thing 1st, since there will be a change of the competition name, i would like to hear from all the canoe polo family about some suggestions. A PROPER and APPROPRIATE name as from this year onwards, this name will forever be name for this competition.
cheers guys. its very soon.

hey daren,
since its not gonna be part of srrr, why not shift the time frame for the competition. cuz since now ntu is having 3 on 3 comp.. and i heard that by end may will have another 3 on 3 for the senior players. then in this case all the competitions are quite close to one another... anyway this is just wat i heard so probably u can ask ntu if they are really gonna have it then probably from this year onwards we all can fix the timing of the all the competitions.
as for the name wise, why dun we just still to SRRR even though its not part of it but i think its been a tradition n everyone is very used to it. :wavey: however its still up to you all to decide :)

the main concern here is to have a bigger time frame between two major competitions in singapore. which is the SRRR and the national champs. last year the time frame was a lil less than 3 mths. which many of us feel is too short. i would have held this time earlier, maybe like in jan or feb, so the time frame would be bigger. but i got too short notice. so in the following years to come, im sure we'll be able to make it happen.
bascially a bigger time frame to allow all schools juniors (year1) and the ivp teams to further prepare for their biggest competition in POLY which is the IVP. i believe with bigger time frame, more improvements could be made and definitely a difference from the last appearance and i believe these are all what the whole canoe polo committee wishes to see, tt is to improve the standards.
regarding the 3 on 3 comps, since srrr is the yearly bigger events, i have no choice but to still put it as such earlier dates. with the above concerns mentioned.
regarding the name, the school does not allow us to use the name of SRRR as it is not affliated anymore. yeah so, like i said, though it maybe a wierd change out of the blue, someone has to start the ball rolling and this will be the year.
Current suggestions
Singapore Polytechnic Canoe Polo Championship(SPCPC)
Singapore Polytechnic Canoe Polo Cup(SPCPC)with the help of everyone, i hope to make this the biggest yet the best event for all canoe polo members.
cheers to all

Hi Daren,
Thanks for your info.
With 9 weeks to your tentative dates of your comp, I got a few qns to raise
1) When will this tentative opening date be confirmed?
2) Will ladies be allowed to play in the guys category?
I understand that you are currently in the preparation stage for this competition. However, I will appreciate if these can be finalized asap so that we can work on our side as well.
Thanks! :)
