I may be moving to Sydney with my work. Just wondering what the polo scene is like there. Clubs, teams, locations etc...
Any advice and info would be really appreciated...
Cheers
Ben

Polo in Sydney is almost dead. Go Figure considering they have almost a quarter of our population. YES! Another post another point!
hey Benners sorry the delay in replying syd people are way more busy, and dont spend our lives on the computer... unlike young Matty P!
There is some polo in syd, we arent in polo season at the moment and so there isnt a comp on but there is people training.
where do you think you'll be moving too, what sort of polo/training are u interested in, what are you coming from, if your just interested in playing comp i can pass on details as they arise, otherwise when u know where your moving to i can let u know where the best place to trains is our training is a bit split at the moment based on geographical locations.

Gday Benners,
As PGIT said there is still some polo in Sydney, but a lot more going on in SA and Vic. By the sounds of it you are locked in to Sydney for your destination so if you have trouble getting in touch with Sydney folk (as they are so busy and don't check emails etc ;) ) then let me know and I'll get you in touch with them.
In SA (and I assume Vic) our regular seasons run for most of the year and there is some sort of training going on every week at various venues and levels.
Cheers.
Anton
Maybe polo is not in session in Sydney, but you can take the short trip up the F7 to Newcastle and enjoy one of the most scenic comps in Australia! On Sunday 7th October we are running our comp at Queen's wharf brewery. It's a great outddor venue on the harbour. It's also the home of Blue Tongue ginger beer and lager.
Have a look at the details in my posting and let me know if you want any more details!

right well i am coming to Sydney - dictated by work. And i am keen for some polo action. I have played in the UK up to div 2 and in NZ in Div 1, but have missed the past 18 moths or so with injury. Keen for what ever i can get really. Self sufficient on the kit front, including a battered old boat. Will be arriving in Sydney on 28th October so sadly i will be missing the outdoor marvel of the Newcastle comp.
Hey Benners i have some good new for you!!
Syd polo season is about to get up and running!!
Here arethe details thus far!
nine week competition, 16th Oct to 18 Dec on Tuesday evenings at Auburn pool.
You can plan your Tuesday evening entertainment now, and encourage all your friends to come along too.
Entry forms will hopefully be out this time next week.
It will be individual entry, with teams selected to promote even competition.
With enthusiastic entry from beginners, it is hoped to run two grades throughout the competition.
Beginner teams will have mentor/coaches assigned for the season to help improve everyone's skill levels.
We'll also aim to have weekend paddling sessions for extra practice and the opportunity to bring along new players.
Look forward to seeing you all on the water.
i'll get you more details as they beocme available!

Righty ho.... I am in Sydney. Living in Bondi. And i want to play polo.
Its taken me a while to get round organising myself and my stuff (took AGES to get my gear shipped over from NZ) but now i am keent o get stuck in.
So....is there still training/comps?
Any other players in the eastern subs (to possibly aid my transport woes if there is any training etc)?
Cheers
