Hi Anyone,
Is there anyone who would like to train on the water one night a week during the week (i.e. after work, but before it gets fully dark)? I'm based in Melbourne, but would ideally like to train on the Yarra in Kew/Fairfield. Also possible to train on the Maribyrnong near Essendon.
Please get in touch! :-)
I need to practice polo boat moves, and ball stuff, and as I can't do a lot on my own, it'd be ace to have someone else who is interested in doing more training. Would also do some fitness paddles (always more fun with another person to goad you into going harder!).
Cheers,
Alice. :)

Howdy,
I am new to Melbourne and just getting back into polo after a few years break (too many to mention)
I live in Box Hill and would be up to training a couple of night in Kew / Fairfield.
Just getting all my gear together, but get in touch if you are still looking for a training partner and I will expedite the purchases so I can join you.

Hi Rick,
I apologise, I will not be able to train on the water during the week until December, as I am away doing fieldwork.
But, depending on your skill level, there is training running from Essendon Canoe Club on Sundays (there will also be mid-week training after daylight savings in late October). I suggest that you get in touch with Mike Wilson

and ask him about your options. What grade did you play when you last played?
Are you currently playing in the Melb Comp? If so, I suggest that you chat to the pool coordinator about this too, as they will be able to point you in the right direction too.
Cheers,
Alice.

Hi Alice,
Thanks for getting back to me.
I did drop into Richmond a few weeks ago and spoke to Kate and a few others down there and have been planning to get down to Essendon for training for a while now, but Sundays not worked and have seen me all over the country.
I will get there, eventually.
For reference I played for Australia back in the day (89-91) and coached the Australian Womens B Team during that period.
I am in the process of sourcing a boat, and some racks for my car then I will make my presence felt. I have been doing a stack of land training and my aim is to get back into A Grade in the veterans (I'm 38)
Thanks again,
Rick
