Hi all,

I have a mate who is heading to Cape Town to live and wants to continue playing Polo. Is there any polo available for him to enjoy?

I would hate the coaching to go to WASTE.

Thanks

While competitive Polo in SA is based in KZN and Johannesburg, I did hear that some Polo has indeed started up in Cape Town recently. This is currently probably purely social, but it's a start! We have been hoping for years that Polo would pick up down there. I will see if I can find some more detail and contact information. When is your friend planning to head over?

p.s. no experience is ever wasted ;-)

Hi James

Laurel is correct. Polo has only recently started up in the Western Cape, however, it is flying at the moment although just at a social level. There are up to 30 guys who get together there to play and at the moment are trying to organise proper kit and venues. The person who is heading up the polo there is Rowan Walpole and he can be contacted on

Please also tell your mate to get in contact with me when he gets to SA and I will fill him in on polo in general in SA outside of Cape Town.
