ICF selects Milan as the host city for the World Championships Canoe Polo in 2010

New Delhi, March 4th, 2006

The ICF President announced today
Milan as the host city for the World Championships Canoe Polo in 2010. The vote was taken this afternoon by ICF board members at their meeting.
Two candidate cities were interested in hosting the Worlds for 2010: Milan/Italy and Saint-Omer/France. Both candidates had the recommendations of the canoe polo committee’s chairman.

Milan will organise the event at the flatwater racing track Idroscalo. The Idroscalo area, which was built in the 1930’s, was improved in 1998 for the World Rowing Championships. The artificial lake of Idroscalo is located in a large public and recreation park (Parco Azzurro) and is situated 10 km from Milan downtown on the eastern outskirts.
