The 2011 ‘Coppa Italia’ competition was held on the 26th and 27th March near Bologna last weekend where over 40 teams played in 4 different categories. The event was organized brilliantly by Giacomo Amelotti and his staff from Canoa Club Bologna.
There were over 40 teams present playing collectively in 4 categories: Senior Men, Senior Women, Men U21 and a promotional Women/Men’s U18 event. A total of 133 games were played spread over 4 pitches. The event began on Saturday 26 and finished on Sunday at 4 pm.
The Shot Clock rule were used for the first time in this competition which was easily integrated, implemented and appreciated by all the teams present.

San Nicola, which notwithstanding having the Dutch champion Jeroen ‘JD’ Dieperink amongst their ranks, could not make a difference to their final standings, having lost previously a tightly fought semi-final match to C.K. Academy.
The Senior Women’s category was also won by the club C.N. Posillipo followed by second ranking S.C. Icnusa. Third classified was the home club team C.C. Bologna.
